Pen Densham

Pen Densham is an Oscar-nominated British-Canadian filmmaker, screenwriter, producer and fine art photographer best known for writing and producing major Hollywood films such as Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991) and Backdraft (1991). He is the co-founder of Trilogy Entertainment Group and has been a prominent figure in revitalizing iconic sci-fi television series like The Outer Limits and The Twilight Zone.
Beyond these nominations, he has a prolific filmography, including directing Moll Flanders (1996) and executive producing the Oscar-nominated film Harriet (2019). He also served as a creative consultant on classics like Rocky II and Footloose.
In recent years, Densham has pivoted to fine art photography, a passion sparked by watching his daughter's intuitive, rule-breaking approach to the medium. He describes his work as "visual music," using long exposures and intentional camera movement to create impressionistic nature images.
Densham is a respected educator and author in the film industry:  He is an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts. And the author of Riding the Alligator, the bestselling screenwriting guide as well as a free digital book titled Qualia, which showcases his "Organic Mandalas" and sensory explorations of light and water
